Welche Wirkungen haben sozialen Medien auf Jugendliche?  „Experten“ führten eine Podiumsdiskussion im Englischunterricht der 10b.  Als Vorbereitung auf die Diskussion haben sich die Schülerinnen und Schüler der 10b zunächst mit den unterschiedlichen Aspekten der Thematik beschäftigt.  Dann haben die Schülerinnen und Schüler unterschiedliche Ansichten von Personen kennengelernt, die mit der Thematik in der Realität zu tun haben.  Danach begann die Podiumsdiskussion mit zwei Schülern als Moderatoren der Diskussionen.

Class 10b discusses the impact that social media has on teenagers in the format of a panel discussion.  

In preparation for the discussion, the students first learned about new digital technologies and  about how fast fashion and mass consumption affect our lives and our earth.  Then students in class 10b took on different roles to discuss the impact social media has on teenagers.

Two students, Konstantin and Sam, took on the role of hosts of the panel discussion while Raghad played a worried mother of three, presenting realistic examples of negative effects of social media on teenagers. Said played the role of a psychologist. Other invited guests were Maurice as Youtuber PewDiePie, Lars as Facebook-Founder Marc Zuckerberg, Ranja as Beatrice Milio, head of social media management of Zalando, and Ege, who took on the role of social media ethicist Tristan Harris.

After a lively discussion, the 10th graders agreed that social media has a big impact on all of our lives and especially that younger children need to be taught how to safely navigate the internet.
